Back Garden invites you to a planning meeting on Wednesday 7 December at 7.30 pm at The Beehive pub, Prospect Hill, Swindon.
The object of the meeting is to ultimately create an environmental plan for our part of Swindon so that the efforts of individual residents can be maximised and that the north side of Old Town Hill - the Back Garden - continues to be a great place in which to live and work in the future.
Back Garden believes that there is potential for:
- improving the street landscape with new environment-friendly planting
- community involvement in the maintenance of green spaces
- promoting energy efficiency
- transport changes
- renewable energy sources
- extra recycling schemes, for example for composting and better use of food wastes
- improving the area's potential for wildlife
- educational activity around green issues
We will be inviting Swindon Borough Council and of course residents to come along and help plan for a Green future. If you think we have missed any organisation or individual who could play a part in the meeting please feel free to pass this email on.
You can find out more about Back Garden at our blog, we also Tweet and have a Facebook page and a Forum.
