Following on from our success in 2010, we are running another cycle orienteering event. This is a great opportunity to get out and explore the cycle networks in Swindon. You can use it teach your kids map-reading and decision-making skills, or simply embark on it as a personal or team challenge. Perhaps you'd like to beat last year's score?
Entry is free! Choose between 1, 2 or 3 hour rides (must be finished by 3pm). Collect orienteering points along the way and hand your points cards in at the checkpoints when you finish. We will provide a pen, a map, scorecards and a plastic orienteering pocket. We recommend that you carry a pump and a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit.
You can plan your own route, or let us help you before you set off. This gives you enough control to eliminate as many roads (or hills!) as you like. Why not give it a go? Got an old bike in the shed? Bring it with you and we'll try and fix it up.
Choose your "start - finish" location and turn up any time from 9am (must finish by 3pm):
- Coate Water Country Park, Marlborough Road
- Link Centre, Whitehill Way, West Swindon
- Haydon Centre, Thames Avenue, Haydon Wick
Please register in advance by downloading the entry form and returning it to the address shown. There will be limited on-the-day entries accepted at Coate Water only. If you would like more information please call Anna Cipullo on 07717 696 672.
To apply online, please complete the entry form and send it to me. If you do not have a printer, please call or email me your details.
