Here are some photos from the TWIGS (Theraputic Work In Gardening in Swindon) open day where we set up our stall and encouraged people to "do three things about climate change today".
The food miles competition encouraged people to think about how far their food may have travelled around the world, and how they can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by buying locally-produced food.
Don't forget the climate change day at the Swindon Festival of Literature on Sunday 13th May. A day of events at Lower Shaw Farm includes talks and workshops with Tony Juniper of Friends of the Earth and author Mark Lynas, and in the evening there is another chance to see Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth at the Arts Centre.
We were proud to be able to display our newly-awarded Quality of Life award.
The TWIGS site, hidden behind the garden centre in Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, includes a working allotment producing organic veg for the local community...
... and a series of different gardens and a wild flower meadow.
